Inspire a New Generation for Nature for All
Convening global conservation, education, and change management thought leaders to focus and take action is critical if progress in conserving nature is to be made. As part of the Brandwein Institute’s “convening, catalyzing and communication” approach, it hosts international gatherings focused on new opportunities to take action on critical issues. Actions proposed at these meetings become a shared responsibility among participants who commit to drive change into reality with their constituents.
Brandwein 2015 Inspiring a New Generation Summit
On November 6, 2015, the Brandwein Institute convened a three-day conference, “Inspiring a New Generation: A North American Summit,” at the National Conservation Training Center, Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Over 200 key stakeholders participated in the task to design an action plan to build life-long relationships with nature for current and future generations. The World Parks Congress, held in 2014 in Sydney, Australia, set the stage for the Summit by focusing one of eight strands on Inspiring a New Generation. “Inspiring a New Generation” has transitioned to a broader theme “Nature for All” or #natureforall.
#NatureForAll is a global movement to inspire a new generation of thinkers and doers across all sectors of society to connect with nature and take action to support its conservation. The program, initiated by the International Union for Conservation of nature and partner organizations including the Brandwein Institute, evolved from a stream at the 2014 IUCN World Parks Congress (WPC) and carried forward at the Brandwein Institute Inspiring a New Generation North American Summit in 2015. At the core is a very simple idea: the more people experience, connect with, and share their love for nature, the more support there will be for its conservation.

The Conservation Learning Summit: A Re-Commitment to the Future
The Brandwein Institute and an array of partner organizations joined together in 2005 to develop a national dialog focused on the development of strategies to reinvigorate the Conservation Science workforce over the next decade. Read more.
