To our Brandwein Institute family,

The Brandwein Institute Board of Directors has postponed all of the summer activities at the Brandwein Nature Learning Preserve due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic and conditions in Orange County, NY. We look forward to welcoming student science campers in 2021 and hope weekend activities can be rescheduled for the fall of 2020. We will make that decision on September 1st. Watch our website and Facebook page for updates.

Again, to all our Brandwein Institute Community please stay safe, practicing social distancing, and wash your hands.

Thanks for your patience,

Keith Wheeler
President, Brandwein Institute

Brandwein Institute Summer Science Camps

Led by Kasey Stankunas

Both 2020 Summer Science Camps have been cancelled. The Brandwein Institute is offering a virtual camping experience this summer between July 13–24, called the “Brandwein Institute Summer Virtual Nature Science Camp (in-a-Box).” The Camp will be led by Master Teacher Kasey Stankunas, other Master Teachers, and local Naturalists. Each participant will receive an all-inclusive box of materials, games, instructions, and multiple opportunities to connect with our teachers and naturalists with both live and prerecorded events, to simulate as best as possible a real camp experience. Many activities will be designed to self-distance the camper away from computer and traditional online learning models. The goal of the virtual science camp is to re-engage students with the natural world and re-inspire their love of science near where they live. To further connect campers to the experience, families will have a window of private time available to visit the Brandwein Nature Learning Preserve for a guided trail walk with one of our Instructors or Naturalists.

Register for the Brandwein Institute Summer Virtual Nature Science Camp at https://waiver.fr/p-UnsEN. Please fill out one application for each child. Registration closes June 26, 2020. The cost will be $59.00 per participant. There is an online payment system once you register.

The Brandwein Institute Summer Science Camp Program 2021 will be offered July 12-16 and July 19 – 23, 2021. Registration will begin on February 1, 2021. Stay tuned to the Brandwein Institute website and Facebook page for updates.
